Satya Nadella may still say he enjoys podcasts, but it seems he’s swapped listening for something more efficient.
In a recent Bloomberg feature that delves into Microsoft’s evolving AI game plan and its tangled ties with OpenAI, Nadella revealed he now uploads podcast transcripts to Copilot. During his commute, he chats with the AI assistant about what the content means — essentially trading passive listening for interactive digestion.
He even quipped that his role has become something like “email typist,” thanks to a fleet of at least 10 personalized Copilot agents. These help him manage emails, prep for meetings, and handle various day-to-day tasks.
AI’s footprint at Microsoft is clearly growing. Engineers have borne the brunt of recent layoffs, shortly after Nadella disclosed that nearly a third of the company’s code is now written by AI.
