Google just rolled out Doppl, a new AI-powered app that lets you create short videos of yourself wearing pretty much any outfit you can imagine. Instead of just picturing how that jacket or dress might look, you can actually see it in motion—on you.
Here’s how it works: You upload a full-body photo, and Doppl brings it to life. Whether it’s a look from your favorite influencer, a cool thrift-store find, or something a friend wore last weekend, you can try it on virtually—and animated. It's like your mirror got a tech upgrade.
Doppl builds on Google’s earlier virtual try-on tools from its Shopping Graph but takes things a step further. Now, instead of just static images, you get motion videos that show how the outfit moves, flows, and fits—almost like a mini fashion show just for you.
You can upload your own photo or pick an AI-generated model to test out different outfits. But heads up: Google says the fit and finer details might not always be spot-on, especially in this early version.
Right now, Doppl is only available in the U.S. for Android and iOS users aged 18 and up. Google encourages sharing your look with friends or on social media, but they’re also aware of potential misuse—like uploading someone else’s photo without permission.
To keep things in check, Doppl will include invisible watermarks to help track how content is shared or used. And while your photos and videos will help improve the AI, Google says they’ll anonymize and separate that data from your account before any human sees it.
So yes, it’s fun and futuristic—but keep privacy in mind when you’re testing out those looks.
